An important thing to remember is that gunlancer scales extremely well with engravings, especially blue lancer - since your shield is basically always up (if you have specialization & time your shout right) a lot of the negatives to engravings are basically negligible. Some people don't like backward dash, so you have to remember that too. I also love Scrapper (i play Shock), imho more fun than Glavier. Cheapest to gear would be probably Demonhunter.Reaper is the most fun class by far. Nothing even comes close. Being fastest but squishiest class provides most adrenaline. Also most stylish animations. And intense gameplay with constant repositioning, that's the best part.

Very investment heavy and takes quite a bit of practice to pilot it. Personally, I'd suggest picking a DPS class as your first for the story, getting to Punika and then boosting a support with the Punika pass. Bard is more caster oriented and HK is more big man with big sword oriented with some glowy angel shit.
